Global History Center Hosted a Seminar with the Theme of “Global History in China: Methodology, Theory and Application”
On the morning of July 4, we welcomed the grand opening ceremony of the seminar hosted by GHC with the theme of “Global History in China: Methodology, Theory and Application”. Over 30 scholars and representatives from domestic well-known universities, research institutes, publishing houses and historical press attended the seminar.
Chief editor of the periodical “World History” Zhang Li presided over the opening ceremony. And Prof. Liang Zhanjun from School of History of CNU delivered the opening address in which he reviewed the achievements made since the founding of GHC in 2004 in teaching, research, publishing and international exchanges and expressed the wishes that valuable advice on the development of GHC were most welcomed. 17 theses with the theme of Multicultural Interaction and Coexistence in World History and Big History Research were handed in the seminar. The attendees aired their views freely and exchanged opinions which contributed to the enhancement of academic exchanges and the development of history. It has become an irreversible trend for workers in history community to coordinate with workers from other disciplines and draw experience from them.
On the eve of closing, practical advice was given on the work of GHC and the further development planning of the periodical “Global History Review”. The seminar closed with a complete success.
