On the evening of September 20^th, Professor Patrick Manning gave a lecture to the researchers and students of GHC, namely "The Human System: Then and Now".

The concept of “human system” provides a valuable framework for history from the earliest days of speaking humans to today’s global society, with its risks of social and environmental disaster. This talk illustrated how the layers of our system have evolved and how the interaction of the human being and between the human and nature enhanced.

Besides the lecture, Prof. Manning also replied the questions of the audience. He also explained the difference between the human system and the world system.
